## What is it?

GPT4All, Nomic’s desktop app for local language models, stores its downloaded models as `.gguf` files in `~/Library/Application Support/nomic.ai/GPT4All`. Each model is typically 2–10 GB.

## What happens if you delete it?

Deleted models can be downloaded again from GPT4All’s model list. Your chats and settings are stored separately and are not affected.

## How to remove it properly

Delete unused models from the Models page in GPT4All, or quit the app and move the `.gguf` files you no longer use to the Trash in Finder.

## Before you delete it

Models you added yourself from other sources may not appear in GPT4All’s download list.
