# Is it safe to delete Keras models in ~/.keras/models?

## What is it?

Keras downloads pretrained weights, for example for its built-in image models such as ResNet or EfficientNet, into `~/.keras/models`. Each file ranges from a few MB to several hundred MB.

## What happens if you delete it?

Weights are downloaded again the next time a script asks for that pretrained model.

## How to remove it properly

Move the folder, or the files you no longer need, to the Trash in Finder (Go › Go to Folder… `~/.keras/models`).

## Before you delete it

Check that you did not save your own trained models in this folder; those cannot be downloaded again.
