## What is it?

The shared Apple Loops collection used by GarageBand, Logic Pro and MainStage: thousands of short audio and MIDI loops sorted by genre and instrument. It typically takes a few GB, more when the full Logic Pro library is installed.

## What happens if you delete it?

Apple’s loops can be downloaded again from Logic Pro’s Sound Library Manager or GarageBand › Sound Library. Projects that use a removed loop show it as missing until then.

## How to remove it properly

Use Logic Pro › Sound Library › Open Sound Library Manager to remove loop packs. Deleting files in Finder needs an administrator password and leaves the loop browser’s index out of date.

## Before you delete it

Third-party loop packs you bought may also be installed here and may not be downloadable again: check before removing them.
