## What is it?

Playwright, the browser-testing library from Microsoft, downloads its own builds of Chromium into `~/Library/Caches/ms-playwright`, one `chromium-<build>` folder per version. Each Playwright upgrade can bring a new build, and older ones may stay behind. Each version is typically a few hundred MB.

## What happens if you delete it?

Removed versions are downloaded again only if a project still pins a Playwright release that needs them, when you run `npx playwright install`. The newest version is kept, so your current tests keep working.

## How to remove it properly

Run `npx playwright uninstall` inside a project to remove browsers no longer used by any Playwright installation, or `npx playwright uninstall --all` to remove every browser Playwright downloaded. Otherwise move the older `chromium-*` folders to the Trash in Finder (Go › Go to Folder… `~/Library/Caches/ms-playwright`).

## Before you delete it

If an older project pins an earlier Playwright version, its tests will need a fresh download the next time you run them.
