## What is it?

When an Android module has native C or C++ code built with CMake or ndk-build, the Android Gradle plugin keeps the native build files in a `.cxx` folder next to the module’s `build.gradle`. It holds object files for each ABI and build type. Only folders in projects untouched for 30 days are considered.

## What happens if you delete it?

The next build regenerates it and recompiles native code, which can take a while for large C++ projects.

## How to remove it properly

Stop Android Studio’s build, then move the `.cxx` folder to the Trash in Finder. `./gradlew clean` alone does not always remove it.
