The short answer
Usually, after a check. Might hold something you care about. Look inside before removing it.
What is it?
PyTorch stores pretrained weights downloaded through torch.hub and torchvision in ~/.cache/torch, mostly under hub/checkpoints, together with cloned hub repositories. Typically a few hundred MB to several GB.
Pretrained weights downloaded by PyTorch. They download again when a script needs them.
What happens if you delete it?
Weights are downloaded again the next time a script loads a pretrained model. Nothing you trained yourself is stored here unless you saved it there on purpose.
How to remove it properly
Quit running Python scripts, then move the folder (or individual checkpoint files) to the Trash in Finder (Go › Go to Folder… ~/.cache/torch).
Quit the app that uses it, then move it to the Trash. Empty the Trash when you’re sure.
How MoreRoom helps
MoreRoom recognises this item and labels it “Review first”: it shows what’s inside, its size and last use, so you can decide. Nothing is removed without your say, and everything goes to the Trash first, with Undo.
