The short answer
No. Your data. Shrink it from its app; don’t delete the folder.
What is it?
High-quality voices downloaded for Spoken Content, VoiceOver and Live Speech, stored in a protected system folder. Enhanced and Premium voices take hundreds of MB each, so several languages add up quickly.
Voices for Spoken Content and VoiceOver. Remove them in System Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > System voice > Manage Voices.
What happens if you delete it?
A removed voice is downloaded again only if you select it.
How to remove it properly
Do not delete files in the system folder. Open System Settings › Accessibility › Spoken Content, click the System voice pop-up menu, choose Manage Voices, and click the Trash button next to voices you no longer use.
Don’t remove it by hand; macOS manages it.
Before you delete it
Voices currently in use, and some Siri voices, cannot be removed from this list.
How MoreRoom helps
MoreRoom recognises this as your data and never suggests deleting it. It shows how much space it takes, so you can shrink it from its own app.
