In short

  • macOS 15 Sequoia or later — macOS 26 Tahoe and later versions included.
  • Any Mac with Apple silicon or an Intel processor that runs macOS 15.
  • An internet connection is only needed to download MoreRoom, activate Pro and get updates. Scans work offline.

Requirements

  • macOS 15 Sequoia or later. MoreRoom doesn’t run on macOS 14 Sonoma or earlier. To check your version, choose Apple menu › About This Mac.
  • A Mac with Apple silicon or Intel. MoreRoom is a native app for both.
  • Full Disk Access is recommended but optional: see Grant Full Disk Access.
  • Internet: only to download MoreRoom, activate a Pro licence (once per Mac, then a quick renewal now and then), download signed rule updates and check for new versions. Scanning and freeing up space work offline.

What MoreRoom can scan

  • The startup disk (Macintosh HD), your home folder or any folder you choose.
  • Other disks connected to your Mac — external drives, USB sticks — listed under Locations in the sidebar, or chosen with Choose a Folder….
  • Network shares can be chosen with Choose a Folder…; scanning them is slower than a local disk.
  • To test a drive’s speed, read its health or check it for damage, use Disk Tools. It works with any drive mounted on your Mac.

Languages

MoreRoom speaks the same 41 languages as this website and follows the language set in System Settings › General › Language & Region. Sizes and prices are written the way your region writes them.

Older Macs

If your Mac can’t run macOS 15, MoreRoom can’t be installed on it. Our free guides — what System Data is, purgeable space, cleaning Xcode or Docker — work on any Mac.
